Ashya Nair is the founding partner of Ashya Nair Sackeran Partnership. She holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of London and a Bachelor of Jurisprudence from the University of Malaya. She is an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya and practises principally in construction, corporate and commercial, employment, and civil dispute resolution.
Ashya advises and represents developers, contractors, companies and business owners in contentious and non-contentious matters. She regularly appears before the Malaysian Courts.
Her construction practice encompasses disputes arising from building and development projects, including claims concerning payment, delay, defective or incomplete works, contractual performance, termination and the respective rights and obligations of parties to a project.
In her corporate and commercial practice, Ashya advises on the preparation, review and negotiation of commercial agreements, business arrangements and transaction documents. Her work includes matters concerning business partnerships, consortium arrangements and agreements governing the collaboration, responsibilities and commercial interests of clients.
Her disputes practice extends to shipping matters and other civil proceedings involving contractual rights, commercial obligations and competing business interests.
Her employment practice includes advising employers and employees on contracts of employment, workplace policies, disciplinary proceedings, termination of employment and disputes arising from the employment relationship. She assists corporate clients in addressing employment issues with due regard to legal compliance, procedural fairness and the operational requirements of the business.
